We're looking for a Principal Engineer — the most senior technical voice on the team — to shape our technical strategy, modernize complex legacy systems, and empower engineers across the organization to do their best work. If you thrive at the intersection of deep technical craft and big-picture thinking, this role is for you.
What you'll own
- Define and drive the long-term technical strategy and technology roadmap
- Identify and resolve major technical blockers across complex, cross-functional projects
- Champion engineering excellence — code quality, best practices, and architectural standards
- Lead solution design across Platform, Security, Engineering, Product, and Quality teams
- Review and provide constructive feedback on technical proposals from multiple teams
- Mentor Technical Leads and Software Engineers, fostering career growth and technical depth
- Tackle the hardest problems in legacy systems — and chart a clear path forward
What we're looking for
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, with strong focus on system architecture, distributed systems, and platform/data solutions
- Demonstrated expertise in modernizing legacy systems — and quantifying the commercial impact
- Deep, hands-on experience across diverse backend technology stacks
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical and architectural concepts to all audiences
- Proven track record leading cross-departmental initiatives from conception to delivery
Nice to have
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Cloud architecture certifications (AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, GCP, or Azure Expert)
- Thought leadership in domains like ML/AI, real-time platforms, modern frontend architecture, or FinTech/PropTech
- Contributions to open source, conference speaking, or published technical writing
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
- Patents or R&D leadership driving transformative technology adoption
