Job Description: Salesforce B2B Commerce Backend Developer
Experience: 5+ Years (2-3 Relevant dedicated to B2B Commerce)
Job Summary: This role is dedicated to the architectural integrity and server-side scalability of the Salesforce B2B Commerce Cloud platform (LWR-based or Aura). You will be responsible for extending the B2B core engine to handle complex organizational structures, custom pricing logic, and large-scale procurement workflows. The ideal candidate is an Apex expert who understands the nuances of B2B buyer journeys, including asynchronous order processing and ERP data synchronization.
Responsibilities:
- Extend Core B2B Logic: Customize and override B2B Commerce extension points (integration providers) for Pricing, Promotions, Shipping, and Inventory.
- Architect Complex Account Structures: Implement and manage complex B2B Buyer/Manager hierarchies, including sharing sets and data visibility rules.
- Custom Checkout Orchestration: Build and modify Checkout Flows using Apex and Flow Builder to integrate with external tax and payment gateways.
- High-Volume Integration: Develop robust REST/SOAP integrations with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for real-time contract pricing and credit limit checks.
- Optimize Data Ingestion: Manage large-scale product catalogs, categories, and entitlement policies using Data Loader, SFDX, or automated middleware.
- Search & Discovery: Configure and optimize B2B Search Indexing, including custom search filters and localized product results.
- Performance Engineering: Optimize SOQL queries and Apex triggers to handle "Large Data Volume" (LDV) scenarios common in B2B buyer accounts.
- API Management: Develop and expose custom Connect API (ConnectApi) endpoints to support headless or mobile-app-driven B2B experiences.
Required Skills:
- Expert Apex & Lightning Platform: Mastery of asynchronous Apex (Queueable/Batch), Platform Events, and Trigger frameworks.
- B2B Commerce Architecture: Deep understanding of the B2B Data Model (Buyer Groups, Entitlement Policies, Price Books, and Storefront Associations).
- Integration Services: Proven experience with Salesforce "External Services," Named Credentials, and complex API authentication (OAuth/JWT).
- Flow & Process Automation: Advanced skills in Screen Flows and Autolaunched Flows specifically for Commerce checkout orchestration.
- Database Management: Proficiency in SOQL/SOSL and an understanding of how indexing works within the B2B Commerce search engine.
- Security & Compliance: Mastery of the Salesforce Sharing Model, including Apex Managed Sharing and Permission Set groups.
- DevOps: Experience with SFDX, scratch orgs, and deployment tools like Copado, Gearset, or ADO.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of Salesforce Development, with at least 2-3 years dedicated to B2B Commerce (Lightning or CloudCraze).
- Certifications: Salesforce Certified B2B Commerce Developer (Required); Salesforce Platform Developer II (Highly Preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with wholesale, manufacturing, or distribution business models (Punchout, Request for Quote, etc.).
