Creative Director – Set Design & Production
Mumbai | Full-Time | Luxury Weddings & Experiential Events
About Us
Swaaha Weddings & Experiences is a luxury wedding planning and experiential design company known for large-scale destination weddings and immersive celebrations across India and international locations.
We are now building an in-house Design & Production vertical to redefine how luxury wedding environments are conceptualised, engineered, and executed.
We are looking for a Creative Director – Design & Production to lead this vertical.
Role Overview
The Creative Director will head the Design & Production department and will be responsible for transforming high-level concepts into immersive, large-scale, technically sound luxury environments.
This is a leadership role requiring a balance of:
- Creative vision
- Technical knowledge
- Team management
- Budget accountability
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership
- Lead conceptual development for luxury weddings & large-scale social events
- Develop immersive spatial narratives, mood boards & storytelling decks
- Oversee stage design, mandaps, lounges, installations & experiential décor
Technical & Production Oversight
- Translate concepts into:
- 2D layouts
- 3D renders
- Technical working drawings
- BOQs
- Collaborate with fabrication teams, scenic artists & lighting partners
- Supervise mock-ups and final production builds
Department Building
- Build and mentor an in-house team of:
- Concept Designers
- 3D Visualisers
- CAD Draftsmen
- Production Coordinators
- Establish SOPs for design workflow & approvals
- Create material library & vendor ecosystem
Budget & Commercial Alignment
- Ensure creative excellence within financial frameworks
- Monitor production costs and reduce wastage
- Optimise vendor partnerships and pricing
On-Site Leadership
- Travel for destination weddings (India & International)
- Oversee large-scale setups and ensure aesthetic precision
- Solve real-time execution challenges
Candidate Profile
Experience:
- 12–18 years of experience in:
- Luxury weddings
- Experiential events
- Film / set design
- High-end exhibitions
- Minimum 5 years in a team leadership role
Skills Required:
- Strong luxury aesthetic sense
- Deep knowledge of fabrication, materials & scenic production
- Understanding of structural basics & lighting integration
- Budget awareness & vendor management capability
- Ability to handle high-pressure live environments
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Design
- Interior Design
- Architecture
- Production Design
(Or equivalent professional experience)
