About the Role
We are seeking an experienced mid-level ServiceNow Developer (IC3) with strong expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) and experience implementing and configuring solutions that support compliance, governance, and optimization for major software publishers—spanning SaaS and on-premise applications.
This is a hands-on development role requiring excellent platform knowledge, coding skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
The candidate will design, configure, and support SAM solutions and analyze new features, including skip-level upgrades and enhancements introduced during ServiceNow family releases.
Key Responsibilities
1. ServiceNow Development
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow core & platform features
- Configure, extend, and customize ServiceNow SAM modules
- Implement automation using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and server/client-side scripting
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Adobe, AWS, etc.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following best practices
- Develop Automated Test Framework (ATF) test cases
2. SaaS Integrations
- Deliver end-to-end integration lifecycle: requirements → design → development → testing → deployment
- Build integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, MID Server
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance
3. Software Asset Management (SAM)
- Support software license tracking, compliance, and optimization
- Configure Discovery, Normalization, Reconciliation, License Models within SAM Pro
- Collaborate with IT, procurement, and business teams to ensure full asset visibility
4. Collaboration & Support
- Work with vendors and stakeholders to review and clarify requirements
- Collaborate with architects, senior developers, and BAs to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews, peer learning sessions, and platform upgrades
- Create documentation and support knowledge transfer
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience
- 2+ years working with ServiceNow SAM
- Strong proficiency in:
- JavaScript, Glide API
- AngularJS, Jelly, HTML, CSS
- Experience with ServiceNow tables, CMDB, relationships, and data structures
- Hands-on experience with web service integrations:
- REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, MID Server, IntegrationHub
- Understanding of software licensing models, compliance, SaaS spend optimization
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Git, DevOps pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate design decisions effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow CSA
- ServiceNow CIS–SAM (Implementation Specialist – SAM)
- Knowledge of ITAM, ITSM, CMDB best practices
- Understanding of cloud/SaaS licensing models across Azure, AWS, GCP
