Role description
POSITION SUMMARY
The ServiceNow Mid-Level/Intermediate Developer will focus on the support and development of ServiceNow with focus on the IT Service Management (ITSM) module. The role requires strong development skills to resolve defects, deliver enhancements, and build new features in alignment with ServiceNow development best practices. The developer will also collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into effective solutions.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configure and enhance IT Service Management (ITSM) processes including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Request Management, and Knowledge Management.
- Build and deploy Business rules, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, scheduled jobs, client scripts, import sets and transform maps. Ensuring consistent and repeatable development practices.
- Implement integrations using REST/SOAP, Integration Hub, MID Server, import sets/transform maps and scheduled jobs as needed.
- Improve and expand Service Catalog by building introducing new and useful items.
- Troubleshoot issues, implement bug fixes and identify root cause analysis for all issues. Follow and adhere to all IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
- Maintain and continuously improve understanding of the processes, standards, policies, working methods, and interfacing tools.
- Identify areas for IT Service Management (ITSM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) process improvement.
- Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and architects to gather and refine requirements.
- Document and test new features, enhancements, and defect fixes to ensure work is fully validated and accurate before promotion to Production.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- · 5+ years of IT industry experience
- · 4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience
- · Expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM): Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Request Management, Knowledge Management and Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- E Experience supporting End User Portal(s).
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
· 4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow administration and development experience
· 5+ years of development experience including JavaScript, and ServiceNow scripting (Glide API, Script includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, etc)
· Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is required. Certified Application Developer (CAD) and ITSM Implementation Specialist certifications are desirable. Additional certifications are a plus.
· Troubleshooting experience and root cause analysis capabilities.
· Build custom applications, Request Items and workflows.
· Experience with development and enhancement of ServiceNow integrations using Representational State Transfer (REST) and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)
· Knowledge of ITIL framework is desirable.
SAFe Agile Framework experience is desirable.
