The ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for end-to-end design, development, and support of ServiceNow applications for customer – one of the leading telecom operators in the ME. ROLE OVERVIEW
The ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for end-to-end design, development, and support of ServiceNow applications for customer – one of the leading telecom operators in the ME. The role requires strong technical expertise in ServiceNow platform development, integration capabilities, and a good understanding of telecom-domain workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and participate in new Projects / Change Requests (CRs) development using ServiceNow, covering both backend and front-end applications.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs (HLD & LLD).
• Design and document High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) artefacts.
• Develop scalable and maintainable ServiceNow applications following best practices – design patterns, coding standards, and naming conventions.
• Maintain source code, update sets, and the overall ServiceNow code base.
• Conduct peer code reviews using the coding standard checklist to ensure quality.
• Perform unit testing; support SIT, QA, and Production verification activities.
• Participate in Review and Audit of applications to ensure adherence to standard processes and agreed SLAs.
• Follow the full SDLC process and produce relevant documentation: LLD, Development Guide, Unit Test Plan, Release Notes, and Operational Procedures.
• Provide L3 support and warranty-period coverage for production applications.
• Collaborate with customer stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate delivery updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned by higher levels of supervision.
TECHNICAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
ServiceNow Platform (Mandatory)
• ServiceNow Configuration Items: Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Actions, UI Policies, Tables, Workflows, Flow Designer.
• Experience with ServiceNow modules: ITSM, ITOM, CSM, or Telecom-specific modules is an advantage.
• Service Portal development (AngularJS / ServiceNow Widgets).
• Integration experience: REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, Integration Hub.
• ServiceNow Performance Analytics and Reporting.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and Asset Management.
• Experience with Update Sets, Application Scopes, and source control (Git/GitHub integration with ServiceNow).
Programming & Databases (Mandatory)
• JavaScript (Server-side & Client-side) – mandatory.
• Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, DML – mandatory.
• MySQL – mandatory.
• Glide API scripting on the ServiceNow platform.
Good to Have
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodology.
• ITIL v3 / v4 Foundation certification.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
• Exposure to Telecom BSS/OSS systems or TM Forum standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent from an accredited university.
• 5 – 7 years of total IT Application Development experience.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow design and development.
• Proven track record of delivering ServiceNow projects in large enterprise or telecom environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
