ServiceNow CMDB Lead
Role Description:
CMDB Lead with the ability and authority to ensure daily end to end delivery of Configuration Management services in accordance with this Configuration Management Plan
Role and Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the process, including establishing priorities and work assignments.
- Tracking compliance to policies and procedures and resolving escalating any compliance issues
- Facilitates Configuration Management audits
- Reviews critical incident outage resolution results and responses and dispositions of failed changes
- Facilitates communication and engages business and IT management to encourage configuration management efforts and value proposition
- Reviews and approves all changes where applicable
- Reviews and approves significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed
- Mentors the organization on Configuration Management services concepts policies and procedures
- Chairs the Configuration Control Board CCB and enacts changes as directed
- Provides and approves all requirements use cases user stories etc
- Overseeing the design coding and testing of reports as needed
- Collecting and reporting on metrics as required
- Identifying and reporting on noncompliance situations
- Identifying service improvement opportunities
- Mentoring and helping direct configuration management specialists and admins
- Updating and maintaining configuration management data in the CMDB including accurate recording classification and identification of CIs
- Monitoring data quality within the CMDB identifying and rectifying inconsistencies or inaccuracies in a timely manner
- Understand the structure of the CMDB and its alignment with the Common Services Data Model CSDM
- Configure and maintain ServiceNow Discovery Service Mapping and data imports Troubleshoot discovery failures and optimize automation
- Suggest and develop automated processes to remove retire stale CMDB data and relationships
- Generating reports and dashboards to provide insights into configuration status changes and relationships
Technical and Industry Experience
- At least 8 years experience in managing and implementing ServiceNow CMDB Discovery and CSDM.
- Must have Hands on experience with ServiceNow CMDB administration and core system functionality.
- Good Knowledge and experience on CSDM frameworks and implementations.
- Expertise in Building and Managing Integrations APIs Import Sets with third party tools like SCCM, Active Directory and monitoring systems and MID Server architecture.
- Strong expertise in automation tools such as Flow Designer, Scheduled Jobs, and scripting.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and address data quality issues.
- Strong knowledge of ACLs and table maintenance
- Expertise in ServiceNow Coding java script business rules, client scripts, UI Policies, etc
- Experience in CMDB Performance Analytics application development and ATF is beneficial
- Experience on ServiceNow Platform core functionality is beneficial
- Certifications Preferred
- ServiceNow CIS Data Foundations CMDB and CSDM CISDF CMDB and CSDM
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator CSA
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer CAD
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist ITSM CISITSM
