Role Description The Service Technician/Service Advisor (Škoda Cars Chennai) is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. The role involves diagnosing vehicle issues, performing routine and complex maintenance and repair tasks, and ensuring all work meets manufacturer standards. Responsibilities include coordinating field service activities within the workshop, supporting customers with technical explanations, and providing clear estimates and service recommendations. The Service Technician/Service Advisor will document service work, maintain accurate job cards, liaise with parts and workshop teams, and ensure prompt, courteous customer service throughout the service cycle. The role also requires adherence to safety protocols, quality checks, and continuous learning on new Škoda technologies and service procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong maintenance and repair skills, with the ability to perform scheduled maintenance and corrective repairs on passenger vehicles.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostics, including identifying mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience in field service and workshop operations, including coordinating service activities and managing job flow.
- Excellent customer service abilities, with clear communication skills for explaining work performed, service options, and costs.
- Relevant technical qualification such as a diploma or certification in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (ITI/Polytechnic or equivalent).
- Previous experience as a Service Technician or Service Advisor in an authorized dealership, preferably with Škoda or other passenger car brands.
- Knowledge of OEM service processes, warranty policies, and basic DMS/service software usage.
- Attention to detail, commitment to safety standards, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment.
