Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Service Technician role based in Hyderabad. The Service Technician will focus on refurbishment, repair, and servicing of laboratory fume hoods, ensuring safe and efficient operation in client facilities. The role includes installation and alignment of modular lab furniture, coordination with project teams, and adherence to installation drawings and site standards. The technician will support basic FRP/PP ducting installation, assist with routing and connections, and work closely with senior engineers or supervisors on technical tasks. Day-to-day activities include site visits to client labs, troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with customers and internal stakeholders. The position also involves following all safety protocols, maintaining tools and equipment, and supporting project timelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Service Technician, particularly in fume hood refurbishment, testing, and balancing.
- Proven experience in installation of modular laboratory furniture, including assembly, leveling, and coordination with other services (electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
- Basic knowledge of FRP/PP ducting installation, routing, and interface with exhaust systems.
- Strong skills in Maintenance & Repair, including routine servicing and replacement of parts to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting of mechanical and basic electrical issues in fume hoods and lab furniture systems.
- Experience in Field Service work, including on-site visits, working in operational labs, and adhering to client site protocols.
- Customer Service abilities, including clear communication, professional behavior on-site, and responsiveness to client needs.
- Understanding of laboratory safety standards and best practices related to fume hoods, ventilation, and lab furniture.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, installation layouts, and basic schematics.
- Physical ability to work on-site, including standing, bending, and handling tools and materials as required.
