Role Description
This is a full-time Service Engineer role based in Vadodara, with extensive field travel to client sites across India. The Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, and overhaul of electric actuators and control valves at power, process, and heavy-industry sites. The role combines hands-on field service operations with direct client interaction, and requires strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills to deliver dependable, high-quality service that upholds Sukan Engineering's reputation with its OEM principals and end customers.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of hands-on field service experience in valve automation or industrial instrumentation.
- Proven expertise in servicing electric actuators — multi-turn, part-turn, and linear. AUMA experience strongly preferred; experience with comparable brands (Rotork, Limitorque, Bernard) is welcome.
- Working knowledge of control valve servicing — positioner calibration (pneumatic 3–15 psi and smart / HART), stroke checking, and accessory servicing — is a strong advantage.
- Competence in commissioning and parameter setting: limit and torque seating, end-position calibration, and configuration of integral actuator controls (e.g. AUMATIC / AUMA MATIC).
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring and loop diagrams, and to set up communication / fieldbus protocols (Profibus, Modbus, HART).
- Skilled in fault diagnosis, breakdown service, overhauling, retrofit, and accurate spare-parts identification.
- Strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support ability to ensure optimal performance of systems on site.
- Sound understanding of safety protocols and standards in engineering and fieldwork — work permits, isolation / LOTO, and interlock verification.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India, often at short notice; valid driving licence.
- Excellent Communication skills for client-facing service and clear field-service documentation.
- Ability to work independently on-site and manage time efficiently.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, or Mechanical engineering.
- Prior experience in the Power or Process industries is an advantage.
