Role Description The Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. The role involves providing technical support and field service for construction and mining equipment, including installation, commissioning, routine maintenance, and corrective repairs. The Service Engineer will diagnose equipment issues, perform troubleshooting, and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime for customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting site visits, preparing service reports, coordinating with internal teams and vendors for spare parts and technical guidance, and advising customers on proper equipment use and preventive maintenance. The role also requires maintaining safety standards, keeping accurate documentation, and building strong professional relationships with clients.
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment.
- Hands-on experience in field service, including on-site visits, equipment commissioning, and customer support activities.
- Proficiency in technical support and maintenance & repair of construction and mining machinery or similar industrial equipment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, service teams, and vendors, and for preparing clear service documentation.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in industrial and construction environments.
- Ability to work independently at customer sites, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple service assignments.
- Previous experience with OEM equipment (e.g., Volvo, Atlas Copco, Chicago Pneumatic) is an advantage.
