Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Service Engineer role based in Ahmedabad. The Service Engineer will be responsible for installation, configuration, and testing of ophthalmic equipment and related solutions at customer locations. Daily tasks include performing routine maintenance, diagnosing technical issues, carrying out repairs, and providing on-site technical support and user guidance. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and customers to schedule service visits, maintain service records, and ensure timely resolution of equipment-related concerns. The Service Engineer will also support training activities for end users and contribute to continuous improvement of service quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose and resolve equipment and system issues efficiently.
- Candidates should possess Field Service experience and Maintenance & Repair skills to manage installations, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions at customer sites.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact clearly with customers, internal teams, and vendors, including the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of ophthalmic or medical equipment and familiarity with safety and regulatory standards is an advantage.
- Ability to travel locally as required, manage time effectively, and work independently in customer-facing environments.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, service documentation, and standard office software for reporting and record-keeping.
