Role Description The Service Engineer – Machine Tools role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The person in this role will install, commission, and service CNC machine tools, including VMCs, HMCs, EDMs, and grinders, at customer locations. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and carrying out repairs and part replacements to minimize downtime. The Service Engineer will provide technical support, document service activities, and collaborate with the internal engineering and sales teams to address machine performance and customer feedback. The role also involves regular field visits, customer training on machine operation and basic upkeep, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for CNC machine tools and related systems.
- Hands-on field service experience, including on-site installations, commissioning, and customer support.
- Technical support capabilities, including reading mechanical and electrical drawings and using diagnostic tools.
- Maintenance and repair skills for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, documenting service activities, and coordinating with internal teams.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, or similar) and basic NC programming concepts.
- Ability to travel to customer sites, work independently, and manage time and priorities in field environments.
- Commitment to safety practices, quality standards, and continuous learning in machine tool technologies.
