Your Opportunity The Business Intelligence Analyst – Bids & Proposals is responsible for analysing bid performance, market trends, competitor activity, solution-based information and pricing strategies to support Serco's bid function in making informed, data-driven decisions. This role plays a critical part in improving win rates, optimising bid strategy and enhancing overall bid efficiency through data analysis, reporting and business intelligence. Working closely with bid managers and commercial teams, the Business Analyst will gather insights from historical bid performance, market intelligence and pricing models to provide actionable recommendations that increase the effectiveness of bid submissions. The role will be predominantly based out of our Dubai HQ with prospects of regional travel to support related projects, bids and opportunities. Key Accountabilities Gather, collate, interpret and analyse (i.e., identification of trends and patterns) relevant and requested data using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports to support business decision making. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that support business decision making across relevant bid and growth business activities. When required, conduct additional research to supplement bid, opportunity and projects including collation and presentation of relevant data and ideas – inclusive of solution studies, feasibility reports and bid-related activity. Provide detailed post-bid analysis, highlighting trends in competitor strategies, pricing, and proposal effectiveness. Monitor industry trends, competitor behavior and procurement market activity to identify emerging opportunities and threats. Analyze client procurement patterns, common evaluation criteria and decision-making trends to refine bid strategies. Support Serco's finance team by analysing bid pricing models, cost structures and financial feasibility. Conduct pricing sensitivity analysis to determine optimal pricing strategies for competitive tenders. To assist in the development and management of project plans to deliver bid requirements on time and on budget. To support the facilitation of the day-to-day running of the bidding process through the provision of timely and effective bid administrative support. To support the bidding function in ensuring that appropriate governance is followed – including the tracking of governance timelines and the accurate storage of related governance files. Provide support to Bid Leads in uploading relevant bid information (i.e., clarifications and client requests) and submissions to customer portals. Identify inefficiencies in bid tracking, reporting and analysis and propose improvements. Support the development of automated bid reporting tools to streamline the analysis process. In addition to the core responsibilities of a Bid Analyst, this role will contribute to the provision of general bid administrative duties across the Bid & Growth function. Note: typical administrative duties may include LPO / PO requests and associated SAP management. Specific Requirements Relevant degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Ideally familiar in bid performance analysis, market intelligence, or commercial pricing analysis as well as bid management processes, procurement frameworks, and CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools. Ability to work with large datasets and develop meaningful trend analysis. Ability to write and speak fluently in English. Adaptable, flexible and resilient (including late / 'unsociable' working when required) Should have strong attention to detail and ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner and have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
