As an SEO Manager at Webenza, you will be responsible for planning and executing data-driven SEO strategies for a portfolio of brands. You will work closely with the account, content, design, and tech teams to deliver measurable growth in organic traffic, visibility, and conversions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on SEO, can independently manage client mandates, and is ready to mentor junior team members in a fast-paced agency environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Planning
- Build and execute SEO roadmaps aligned to each client’s business and marketing goals.
- Conduct keyword, competitor, and SERP analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Translate SEO recommendations into clear deliverables. traffic, rankings, engagement, and conversions.
2. Technical SEO
- Perform regular technical audits. crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile friendliness, structured data and JavaScript SEO basics.
- Coordinate with client and internal development teams to get technical fixes implemented and validated.
- Monitor site health via GSC and other tools and raise proactive recommendations.
3. On Page & Content Optimization
- Own on-page optimization. meta tags, headers, schema, internal linking, URL structuring and content hygiene.
- Work with content teams to define keyword clusters, content calendars and topical authority frameworks.
- Ensure SEO best practices are integrated into UX, content and landing page experience.
4. Off Page SEO & Authority Building
- Plan and manage ethical link building initiatives. outreach, digital PR, directories and partnerships as relevant.
- Track and analyse backlink profiles, disavow toxic links where required and improve domain and page authority.
5. Analytics, Reporting & Insights
- Set up and maintain dashboards and reports using GA4, GSC, Looker Studio and other tools.
- Track key KPIs. organic traffic, rankings, CTR, conversions, assisted conversions and engagement metrics.
- Share clear monthly and quarterly insights with clients. what happened, why it happened and what we will do next.
6. Client & Internal Collaboration
- Act as the day to day SEO point of contact for assigned clients, joining review calls and presentations as needed.
- Work closely with account managers, content, design, performance media and tech teams to deliver integrated outcomes.
- Support pre sales activities through audits, opportunity sizing and SEO recommendations for new pitches.
7. People & Process
- Mentor junior SEO analysts and executives. review work, share feedback and help build capability.
- Follow and contribute to Webenza SEO checklists, templates and standard operating processes.
- Stay updated on algorithm changes, SERP trends and tools and share learnings with the wider team.
Key Requirements
- 4–7 years of hands on SEO experience with proven results across multiple brands, preferably in an agency setup.
- Strong working knowledge of technical SEO fundamentals. HTML, CSS basics, Core Web Vitals, structured data, XML sitemaps, canonicalization and redirects.
- Practical experience using tools such as GA4, GSC, GTM, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog or similar.
- Experience managing SEO for content heavy, high traffic or transactional websites is preferred.
- Solid understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors and modern SERP features.
- Strong analytical skills with comfort in Excel or Google Sheets and dashboarding tools.
- Good communication and presentation skills with ability to explain SEO concepts in simple business language.
- Experience working with developers, designers and content teams in a collaborative environment.
- Exposure to generative AI tools for content ideation, keyword clustering or optimisation workflows will be an advantage.
