About the Role
We are looking for an SEO & GEO Manager who can take ownership of organic growth across search engines and emerging AI-driven search platforms.
This is a key role within the organization. We are looking for someone who has not only executed SEO campaigns but has strategized, implemented, measured, and optimized SEO programs end-to-end.
The ideal candidate understands traditional SEO deeply, has hands-on experience with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AI search, and is comfortable working directly with websites and CMS platforms such as WordPress and Webflow.
You will work closely with content, design, development, and marketing teams to build sustainable organic growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. SEO Strategy & Execution
- Develop and own comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with business and growth objectives.
- Conduct technical, on-page, off-page, local, and content SEO.
- Perform keyword research, competitor analysis, search intent analysis, and opportunity mapping.
- Build SEO roadmaps and prioritize initiatives based on potential business impact.
- Implement and continuously optimize SEO strategies rather than simply providing recommendations.
- Monitor organic traffic, rankings, visibility, conversions, and other relevant KPIs.
- Identify and resolve technical SEO issues including crawling, indexing, site architecture, redirects, canonicalization, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and internal linking.
2. GEO / AI Search Optimization
- Develop strategies to improve brand visibility across AI-powered search and generative engines.
- Understand how platforms such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and other AI search experiences surface and cite information.
- Identify opportunities to increase the likelihood of a brand being referenced, cited, or surfaced in AI-generated answers.
- Implement GEO strategies across website content, structured data, topical authority, entity optimization, and digital PR/content initiatives.
- Track changes in AI search visibility and develop frameworks to measure GEO performance.
3. Website & CMS Management
- Work hands-on with WordPress and Webflow websites.
- Implement SEO changes directly within CMS platforms wherever possible.
- Manage page structures, metadata, redirects, internal linking, schema, URL structures, sitemaps, and other SEO elements.
- Collaborate with developers when changes require custom development.
- Ensure websites are technically optimized for both search engines and AI search engines.
- Understand basic HTML/CSS and be comfortable troubleshooting website-level SEO issues.
4. Content & Topical Authority
- Build content strategies around search intent, topical authority, and commercial objectives.
- Create keyword/topic clusters and content roadmaps.
- Work with content writers to produce content that is genuinely useful, authoritative, and optimized for search.
- Identify content gaps and opportunities through competitor and SERP analysis.
- Optimize existing content to improve rankings, traffic, engagement, and conversions.
5. Analytics & Reporting
- Own SEO reporting and performance analysis.
- Use tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or equivalent platforms.
- Translate SEO data into actionable insights and business recommendations.
- Establish meaningful KPIs and regularly communicate performance, learnings, and next steps to leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 5–7 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably with experience managing SEO for multiple websites/brands.
- Proven experience in strategizing AND implementing SEO, not just creating audits or recommendations.
- Hands-on experience with GEO / Generative Engine Optimization / AI Search Optimization.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO, on-page SEO, content SEO, and off-page SEO.
- Hands-on experience with WordPress and Webflow.
- Strong understanding of website architecture, HTML, metadata, schema, redirects, indexing, canonicalization, and internal linking.
- Experience using SEO and analytics tools such as Ahrefs/Semrush, Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently identify opportunities, build a strategy, execute it, and measure the outcome.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with content, design, development, and marketing teams.
A Big Plus
- Experience taking a website from low/no organic visibility to significant organic growth.
- Experience with international SEO or multi-location SEO.
- Experience with e-commerce SEO.
- Experience working with startups, agencies, or high-growth businesses.
- Understanding of structured data, entity SEO, digital PR, link acquisition, and topical authority.
- Experience experimenting with emerging AI search/GEO methodologies.
- Ability to use data to connect SEO activity with leads, revenue, and business outcomes.
