About the Role
We are looking for an SEO Engineer to build and optimize the technical SEO foundation of our website(s).
This role focuses on code-level SEO, performance, crawlability, and search readiness, not content writing or social media.
You will work closely with the product / web team to ensure the website is search-engine friendly, fast, and scalable.
ResponsibilitiesTechnical SEO
- Ensure proper crawlability and indexation across the website
- Set up and maintain XML sitemaps and robots.txt
- Fix technical SEO issues such as broken links, redirects, duplicate content, and canonical errors
- Optimize Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP)
- Ensure mobile-first and responsive SEO best practices
Site Architecture & On-page Structure
- Define clean URL structures and page hierarchy
- Implement correct heading structures (H1–H6)
- Improve internal linking and navigation for SEO
- Ensure SEO-friendly templates for new pages
Performance & Code Optimization
- Optimize page load times and asset delivery
- Implement image optimization and lazy loading without SEO impact
- Handle SEO considerations for modern frameworks (React / Next.js / Webflow / WordPress as applicable)
Schema & Structured Data
- Implement and validate structured data (Organization, Local Business, FAQ, Article, etc.)
- Ensure rich-result eligibility where applicable
Analytics & Monitoring
- Set up and configure Google Search Console and Google Analytics
- Monitor indexing, crawl errors, and performance issues
- Provide actionable insights and fixes based on data
Documentation & Handover
- Document SEO setup, decisions, and best practices
- Create a basic SEO checklist for future pages and content
- Handover guidelines to internal teams
RequirementsMust-have
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in technical SEO
- Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, index, and rank websites
- Experience with site performance optimization
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from an SEO perspective
- Experience setting up Google Search Console and Analytics
Good to have
- Experience with modern web frameworks (React / Next.js)
- Familiarity with Webflow or WordPress SEO setups
- Knowledge of schema and structured data validation
- Experience working with early-stage startups
