PurpleChalk is looking for an experienced SEO Associate with a strong background in eCommerce SEO, particularly for Fashion, Lifestyle, D2C, and B2C brands.
We're seeking someone who understands the evolving search landscape - from Technical SEO and Content SEO to AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with Shopify and WooCommerce, managing multiple brands, and delivering measurable organic growth in an agency environment.

Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute SEO strategies for eCommerce, Fashion, Lifestyle, B2C, and D2C brands
- Manage SEO activities across multiple client accounts
- Work extensively on Shopify and WooCommerce websites
- Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, search intent mapping, and SERP analysis
- Optimise product pages, collection pages, category pages, landing pages, and blogs
- Execute on-page SEO, including:
- Meta titles & descriptions
- Heading hierarchy
- Internal linking
- URL optimisation
- Image optimisation
- Content optimisation
- Perform technical SEO audits and coordinate with developers to resolve:
- Crawling and indexing issues
- XML sitemap creation and submission
- Robots.txt optimisation
- Canonicalisation
- Redirects
- Broken links
- Core Web Vitals improvements
- Monitor website health using Google Search Console and Google Analytics (GA4)
- Execute ethical backlink-building and off-page SEO strategies
- Implement International SEO and Local SEO strategies where required
- Apply AEO and GEO best practices to improve visibility across AI-powered search experiences
- Monitor rankings, traffic, and search performance, and prepare detailed SEO reports
- Analyse performance and recommend Plans of Action (POAs) for continuous improvement
- Work closely with developers, designers, content writers, and performance marketing teams
- Stay updated with Google algorithm updates, emerging SEO trends, and AI-driven search developments
Required Skills & Experience- 2–3 years of hands-on SEO experience
- Strong experience working with Shopify and WooCommerce
- Experience managing Fashion, Lifestyle, B2C, D2C, and eCommerce brands
- Agency experience preferred
- Strong understanding of:
- Technical SEO
- On-page SEO
- Off-page SEO
- Link building
- Search intent optimisation
- SERP analysis
- AEO & GEO
- Hands-on experience with:
- Google Search Console
- Google Analytics (GA4)
- Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or equivalent SEO tools
- Experience with:
- XML sitemap generation and submission
- Robots.txt configuration
- Canonical tags
- Redirect management
- Backlink building and backlink audits
- Crawl and index optimisation
- Basic understanding of HTML tags (Title, Meta, H1-H6, Canonical, Alt Tags) is essential
- Basic knowledge of HTML is an added advantage
- Experience working on International SEO and Local SEO
- Ability to manage multiple brands simultaneously
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative team player with a proactive approach
- Must currently be based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu
- Immediate joiners preferred
Good to Have- Experience implementing Schema Markup and Structured Data
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager
- Understanding of Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed optimisation
- Exposure to AI-powered search optimisation
- Experience working with fashion, lifestyle, luxury, or premium retail brands
