ResponsibilitiesVisit fields regularly to capture crop data and digital media (e.g. pictures, videos, etc.).Support Sentinel staff and N-Time users in executing applications, understanding recommendationsCommunicate regularly with customers to whom you’ve been assignedManage relationships with partners including CSPs, farmers, and trial collaborators.Transfer, organize, and analyze data.Monitor N-Time® to stay updated on the latest insights and recommendations for supported fields.Support N-Time® as needed at the direction of Sentinel team membersCollect feedback from partners and users to inform company directionIf opportunities arise, present at events including field days and grower meetingsQualificationsSophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate Student, or recent graduate studying agronomy, crop science, soil science, precision agriculture, agricultural technology, mechanized systems management, agricultural engineering, agribusiness or other related discipline at a university or technical college. Strong verbal communication, written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsKeen interest in use of technology to advance crop production techniques.Awareness of precision agriculture concepts and imagery use in agriculture (grid sampling, management zones, variable rate input prescriptions, informed crop scouting)Strong organizational capabilitiesSelf-starter with entrepreneurial spirit who is passionate about our mission.Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)Diligence in learning and leveraging team and project management software in Microsoft Suite (Teams, OneNote, OneDrive, Planner, etc.)Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.Experience in GIS, FMIS, Irrigation Management software preferred.Experience in crop-scouting and data collection preferred.Knowledge of a variety of crops preferred (cereal grains, forages, potatoes, cotton)Compensation, Benefits, and ScheduleSalary: $8,000 delivered in equal biweekly incrementsDates: May 2024 – August 2024 (flexible with school dates)Duration: 10 weeksLocation: Ithaca, NESchedule: Flexible hours – it’s about getting the job doneAdditional Benefits: Financial and time support of efforts to enhance skillsetFuture consideration for long-term, full-time employment.About Sentinel FertigationFounded in 2021, Sentinel Fertigation is based in Lincoln, NE, and builds digital solutions that empower precision chemigation management, including N-Time® which turns satellite images of crops into nitrogen application recommendations that increase nitrogen fertilizer use efficiency to improve farm profitability and minimize environmental impact.
