THERAPY TECH (Part-Time)
Sensory Kids Therapy Services – North Liberty, IA

We’re seeking a Part-Time Therapy Technician who is self-motivated and a helpful team member to work alongside our talented team of clinicians. We are looking to hire a part-time tech who can float between office tech and therapy tech roles to help our growing caseloads. This is a 20-30-hour-per-week position, Monday-Friday, with some flexibility in scheduling.

JOB SUMMARY
Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed therapist, the Therapy Tech assists in maintaining the treatment areas, prepares for therapy sessions, helps with client transitions, and performs administrative duties. A successful Therapy Tech is physically fit, detail-oriented, and a great team player. In addition to being involved in the direct care of clients, the Therapy Tech performs tasks that are indirectly related to client care, such as cleaning and maintaining the sensory gym, organizing toys/games, and managing the front desk.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following list reflects the general details necessary to describe the most important and essential functions of the position and shall not be construed as the only duties that may be assigned.
- Perform clinical and administrative tasks as directed
- Assist clients move to and from treatment areas as necessary and assist in preparing areas for treatment.
- Assist therapists as needed
- Provide setup and clean-up of care areas, and clean and sanitize equipment as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks, including assisting with client intake, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments.
- Perform clinical tidying (take out the trash, clean/put away toys, keep floors clutter-free, maintain a clean waiting room).
- Maintain supplies and inventory, and ensure that equipment performs appropriately before use.
- Sanitize heavily touched surfaces.
- Handle necessary paperwork and ensure compliance with clinic policies and procedures.
- Organize supplies
- Maintain client and family confidentiality in matters relating to care provided.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent education.
Experience and/or Training:
Prior work experience or volunteer experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Proficiency in office software.
Licenses/Certificates: N/A

Adaptability. Ability to work well and be empathetic to the needs of the clients.
Detail-oriented. Ability to quickly and accurately follow written and spoken instructions of occupational therapists. Attention to detail when performing administrative and clerical tasks.
Interpersonal skills. Ability to be friendly and courteous when interacting with clients, and ability to demonstrate empathy to the clients and their needs.
Physical strength. A moderate degree of strength and physical exertion is required to assist clients. Constant kneeling, stooping, and standing for long periods of time.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is typically performed in a clinic environment. The clinic environment consists of a front desk, a waiting room, an outdoor space, individual treatment rooms, and shared sensory gym spaces. Supplies are kept downstairs. A quick-paced environment between clients when areas need to be cleaned and prepared. Noise level is usually moderate.
