Role Overview
The Economic Times is looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Writer to lead editorial coverage and content strategy for ET Events and Intellectual Properties (IPs). The role involves managing event-related editorial workflows, developing compelling content for flagship initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen the value proposition of existing and new ET properties.
The ideal candidate should possess strong newsroom experience, exceptional writing and editorial capabilities, and the ability to adapt content across emerging digital formats and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end editorial coverage workflows for events curated by The Economic Times
- Work closely with the Senior Editor – Special Projects and internal stakeholders on editorial deliverables for new initiatives and brand IPs
- Develop high-quality editorial content including features, interviews, event reports, opinion pieces, and special coverage
- Contribute towards enhancing the content and engagement strategy for existing ET IPs and flagship properties
- Coordinate with editorial, marketing, social media, design, and events teams to ensure timely content execution
- Conceptualize and execute innovative editorial formats across digital and emerging platforms including podcasts and social media
- Maintain editorial quality, accuracy, and alignment with ET’s brand positioning and standards
- Track industry trends, business developments, and audience preferences to create impactful event-led editorial narratives
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10–15 years of strong writing and editorial experience in reputed newsrooms/media organizations
- Excellent command over English language and storytelling capabilities
- Strong understanding of business, economy, leadership, and event-led editorial content
- Experience working on listicles, awards, rankings, summits, or special editorial projects within a media organization will be an added advantage
- Ability to leverage digital and emerging mediums including podcasts, videos, and social media content formats
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Background
- Experience in business, media, events, or editorial special projects teams
- Exposure to event-linked content creation and leadership-focused editorial initiatives preferred
