Job Title: Senior Winding Technician

Job Purpose
To execute advanced transformer winding activities (LV/HV) while ensuring high-quality output, adherence to technical specifications, and efficient production flow. The role supports supervision on the shop floor, provides technical guidance to technicians, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Execute complex winding activities for LV & HV coils in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Set up, adjust, and optimize winding machines and equipment for different transformer types.
Review and interpret detailed technical drawings, winding diagrams, and work instructions.
Guide and support winding technicians to ensure proper execution of tasks and adherence to standards
Monitor winding quality including turns accuracy, insulation, alignment, and dimensional compliance.
Perform in-process inspections and coordinate closely with quality teams to ensure defect-free output.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to winding processes and implement corrective actions.
Ensure proper use and handling of materials to minimize waste and improve efficiency.
Support production planning by ensuring tasks are completed within set timelines.
Maintain accurate records of production activities, deviations, and technical issues.
Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and safe working practices.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and process efficiency.
Assist supervisors in training and onboarding new technicians.
Qualification & Education:
Education: Technical Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial or relevant field.
Years of Experience: 5 – 7 years of experience in transformers manufacturing or similar electrical production environments, preferably in winding operations.
Technical competencies:
• Advanced knowledge of transformer winding processes (LV/HV)
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and winding diagrams
• Machine setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting
• Deep understanding of insulation techniques and materials
• In-process quality control and defect prevention
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving
• Process improvement and efficiency optimization
• Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments
