Role Description The Senior Wedding Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for leading the creative and experiential design of luxury weddings from concept to execution. This position oversees end-to-end event design, including developing visual themes, mood boards, layouts, and décor plans that align with client aspirations and brand standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients to understand their story and preferences, collaborating with planners and production teams, coordinating with vendors and stylists, and conducting site visits to refine spatial design and guest flow. The Senior Wedding Designer will manage design timelines and budgets, supervise on-ground setup and décor installation, and ensure quality control across all touchpoints during events. The role also involves mentoring junior designers, staying current with global wedding and luxury event trends, and proposing innovative design solutions that elevate the overall guest experience.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in event and spatial design, including concept development, décor styling, mood board creation, and venue layout planning.
- Proficiency in visualisation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design software) and comfort working with floor plans and 3D references.
- Experience collaborating with production, lighting, floral, and décor vendors to translate creative concepts into feasible on-ground execution.
- Advanced client-facing skills, including storytelling, presentation, negotiation, and the ability to translate abstract ideas into clear design directions.
- Demonstrated strength in project management, time management, and handling multiple complex events and timelines in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse clients, teams, and stakeholders.
- Prior experience (typically 5+ years) in luxury wedding design, event design, or high-end hospitality/event production; destination wedding experience is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Event Management, Hospitality, Architecture, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
