Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida for a Senior Veterinary Doctor working with a small animal stray dog NGO. The Senior Veterinary Doctor will be responsible for diagnosing and treating injuries, performing surgeries as necessary, administering vaccinations, and conducting routine health examinations. Additionally, the role involves advising the NGO on animal care practices, overseeing rehabilitation programs, and managing veterinary records for the dogs. The role will also include training and mentoring junior staff and collaborating with other team members to ensure the welfare of the animals.
Qualifications
- Veterinary Medicine and Surgery experience, with expertise in diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses in small animals
- Knowledge of animal behavior, preventive healthcare, and vaccination protocols for small animals like stray dogs
- Ability to perform surgical procedures and manage post-operative care
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills for training and mentoring junior staff
- Record-keeping and organizational skills for efficiently managing medical records
- Passion for animal welfare, particularly for working with stray and vulnerable animals
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine along with relevant certifications; a Master’s qualification is an added advantage
- Previous experience working in an NGO or animal welfare organization is a plus
