Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Senior US Tax Accountants to join our growing US Tax practice. This is a combined preparer-cum-reviewer role — the individual will prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, and will also review tax returns prepared by junior associates before filing. You will work closely with US-based clients and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Review
- Independently prepare AND review own US federal and state income tax returns for individuals (1040), corporations (1120/1120S), partnerships (1065), and trusts (1041) — owning the full cycle from data gathering to final review before filing
- Review tax returns prepared by junior associates for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before filing
- Handle multi-state tax filings and manage state nexus considerations
- Prepare sales and use tax returns, payroll tax forms, and informational returns (1099s, W-2s) as required
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and applicable state tax laws
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Assist in tax planning strategies to minimise liabilities for individuals and business clients
- Identify and communicate tax-saving opportunities, credits, and deductions
- Research complex tax issues and document findings clearly
Client & Team Coordination
- Liaise with US-based clients to gather required data, resolve queries, and provide status updates
- Coordinate with client-facing teams on return status and open items
- Mentor and guide junior tax associates in preparation and review tasks
Software & Tools
- Work proficiently in tax software such as Drake, UltraTax, ProSeries, Lacerte, or equivalent
- Maintain organised digital workpapers and documentation in line with firm standards
- Utilise Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and cloud-based document management tools
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- EA (Enrolled Agent) designation preferred; CPA or CPA in progress is a strong advantage
- Thorough understanding of the US Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and IRS filing procedures
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in US tax preparation AND review (3–7 years preferred)
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing individual, business, and trust/estate tax returns, including review of work done by junior team members
- Prior experience in an outsourcing/BPO environment servicing US clients is highly desirable

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to support team goals
