Senior UI/UX Designer – B2B CPaaS Platform
Location: Bangalore
Department: Technology
Reports to: Senior Product Manager
Experience: 5 – 8+ years
About The Role
We're looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to own the end-to-end design discipline of our B2B CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) product. You'll be turning inherently complex capabilities such as telecom APIs, omnichannel messaging, automation workflows, and analytics , into intuitive, accessible interfaces for highly technical enterprise users. As the primary (or sole) designer partnering with Product and Engineering, you'll be the quality bar for the platform's UX: not just producing screens but ensuring design intent that survives all the way through to what actually ships .
This role carries real ownership of the design system, the platform's information architecture, and the handover discipline that lets engineering build without ambiguity. It suits someone who treats design as a system to be governed, not just a set of deliverables to be produced, and who proactively flags risk, documents decisions, and holds the line on quality under delivery pressure.
Key Responsibilities & What Success Looks Like
- Complex workflow simplification: Design flows, wireframes, and prototypes that make CPaaS configuration approachable: things like journey creation builders, bulk WhatsApp and RCS setup, chatbot/automation flows, number provisioning, and API-driven console dashboards. You reduce cognitive load through progressive disclosure and role-based views rather than exposing every option at once.
- Developer experience (DX) focus: Partner closely with product managers & engineers so that consoles, API-configuration screens, documentation surfaces, and dashboards are logically structured and frictionless for a technical audience. You understand that in a CPaaS product, technically savvy users are the primary consumers.
- End-to-end ownership: Own design across the platform, from discovery and research through to shipped UI, including modules beyond your direct assignments. You're comfortable as the primary or sole designer, operating with high autonomy, and can speak to the platform's overall UX state at any time.
- Proactive risk management: Maintain a working view of UX debt and gaps across the platform, flagging risks in planning and reviews before they become downstream problems.
- Handover rigor: Produce self-explanatory, fully annotated handovers (all states, edge cases, responsive behaviour , design tokens) that require no back-and-forth with engineering and stay engaged through build so shipped work matches design intent.
- Design system governance: Build, scale, and enforce a robust, component-driven design system (tokens, patterns, naming conventions, auto-layout discipline) that stays consistent across the CPaaS portal, analytics dashboards, and any mobile surfaces , operated as a living standard, not a one-off project.
- Information architecture ownership: Own and maintain the platform's IA (sitemaps, navigation, content taxonomy, labelling) as new features ship, treating it as a version-controlled artifact rather than a one-time exercise.
- Research & data-informed decisions: Plan and run usability tests and heuristic evaluations and use product analytics and enterprise-client feedback to justify design choices on first principles rather than aesthetic preference alone.
Cross-functional leadership: Act as the voice of the customer, advocate for user- centered design, defend design decisions to executive stakeholders, and mentor other designers within the agile product team.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years in UI/UX design, ideally shipping high-quality B2B, SaaS, or enterprise tech products.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-user, or data-heavy products (data visualization, system configuration, dashboards ; not marketing sites or consumer apps).
