Travel Requirement: Frequent travel for field trials, demonstrations, testing, and operational deployments.
Role SummaryWe are looking for a motivated, disciplined, and detail-oriented UAV Pilot to join our Flight Operations Team and support advanced UAV operations across testing, demonstrations, field deployments, and mission execution.
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting UAV missions, conducting flight inspections, assisting in flight testing, and ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient drone operations. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about drone technology, mission execution, UAV testing, and hands-on field operations in dynamic and mission-critical environments.
The UAV Pilot will work closely with engineering, operations, and mission teams to support the development, validation, and deployment of UAV platforms while maintaining high standards of flight safety, operational readiness, and compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesFlight Operations & Mission Support- Operate UAVs for testing, training, field operations, demonstrations, and data collection
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections, checklists, and operational documentation
- Assist in mission planning, endurance testing, payload validation, and performance assessment
- Ensure safe and efficient UAV operations during testing and field deployments
- Follow flight safety procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and mission guidelines.
Flight Testing & Performance Evaluation- Support flight testing of engineering prototypes and experimental UAV systems
- Assist in flight tuning, parameter optimization, and performance evaluation
- Participate in payload integration testing, endurance validation, and mission readiness activities
- Identify and report flight anomalies, system issues, or performance concerns
- Support troubleshooting of flight stability, propulsion, vibration, and system performance issues.
Ground Control Station (GCS) Operations- Operate and monitor UAVs through Ground Control Station (GCS) systems
- Monitor telemetry, battery health, flight logs, and mission parameters in real time
- Support safe mission execution through continuous monitoring and operational control.
UAV Operations & Technical Support- Support operations of multirotor, fixed-wing, and hybrid VTOL UAV platforms
- Assist in payload handling, mission planning, and operational deployment activities
- Support testing of multi-motor propulsion systems and onboard electronics
- Assist in battery management, power monitoring, and endurance optimization
- Support UAV assembly, disassembly, transportation, and deployment activities.
Documentation, Compliance & Safety- Maintain flight logs, mission records, checklists, and operational documentation
- Follow OEM guidelines, safety procedures, SOPs, and DGCA regulatory requirements
- Report flight anomalies, incidents, safety concerns, or system malfunctions promptly
- Ensure adherence to operational safety and compliance standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Coordinate effectively with engineers, technicians, and mission teams during UAV operations
- Support field testing, demonstrations, and customer deployments
- Travel to test sites, customer locations, and operational environments as required.
Required QualificationsEducation- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Or related technical disciplines
Experience- 2–6 years of experience in UAV operations, flight testing, or aviation-related activities
- (Freshers with strong technical fundamentals and practical UAV exposure may also be considered)
- Experience with multirotor, fixed-wing, or hybrid VTOL UAV platforms
- Hands-on exposure to field testing, mission execution, and UAV troubleshooting
- Experience in payload operations, endurance testing, or field deployments will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills- Basic to intermediate understanding of UAV systems, aviation safety, and remote aircraft operations
- Familiarity with Ground Control Station (GCS) systems and telemetry monitoring
- Understanding of battery systems, propulsion systems, ESCs, and UAV electronics
- Familiarity with mission planning tools and flight logging systems
- Experience with ArduPilot / ArduCopter / PX4 is preferred.
Certifications (Good to Have)- DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate (Small / Medium Category preferred)
- Familiarity with Pixhawk / Cube flight controllers.
