Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Toxicologist to support safety evaluation and risk assessment of consumer healthcare (OTC, nutraceutical, and self-care) products. This role will drive ingredient safety, regulatory toxicology, and product lifecycle safety for global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct toxicological risk assessments for OTC products, excipients, herbal ingredients, and nutraceuticals
- Evaluate ingredient safety, exposure limits, and impurities (e.g., ICH M7)
- Interpret non-clinical toxicology studies (repeat dose, genotox, reproductive toxicity, etc.)
- Support global regulatory submissions and compliance (FDA OTC, EMA, EFSA, ICH, OECD)
- Prepare and review toxicological summaries, expert reports, and safety justifications
- Provide input into product labeling, claims substantiation, and safety statements
- Support post-market surveillance, product complaints, and safety investigations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Medical, R&D, Quality, Marketing)
- Contribute to risk management strategies across product lifecycle
- Stay updated with evolving consumer health regulations and safety standards
Required Qualifications
- PhD / MSc in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or Life Sciences
- 10+ years of experience in toxicology / safety assessment
- Strong expertise in ingredient safety and risk assessment
- Experience with global regulatory frameworks (ICH, OECD, FDA, EFSA)
- Proven experience in scientific writing and regulatory documentation
Preferred Skills
- Experience in consumer healthcare / OTC / nutraceuticals
- Exposure to labeling, claims, and post-market safety
- Familiarity with in silico / predictive toxicology tools
- Experience working in a global / GCC environment
