Role: Technical Writer
Experience Level: Senior
Purpose Role
Own the creation and maintenance of clear, accurate, and usable documentation for enterprise AI platforms and AI-enabled workflows. This role exists to ensure that complex technical systems can be understood, adopted, and operated at scale without constant dependency on engineers.
The Technical Writer will work closely with engineering, platform, governance, and change teams to translate technical complexity into practical guidance for different audiences.
Key Outcomes This Role Owns
- Clear, structured documentation that enables independent platform usage
- Reduced reliance on engineers for basic onboarding and usage questions
- Consistent understanding of how AI platforms and workflows are meant to be used
- Documentation that supports adoption, governance, and operational readiness
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain technical documentation for AI platforms and supporting systems
- Document platform architecture, components, and workflows in a clear, structured manner
- Produce user guides, onboarding material, FAQs, and reference documentation
- Work with engineers and architects to accurately capture system behavior and constraints
- Document standards, best practices, and usage guidelines
- Support governance and compliance documentation needs where required
- Ensure documentation stays current as the platform evolves
- Structure content for different audiences (engineers, domain experts, operations teams)
What Success Looks Like
- New users can onboard to the platform with minimal hand-holding
- Documentation is accurate, current, and trusted
- Teams have clarity on how to use the platform correctly and consistently
- Reduced friction during adoption and scale-up phases
Ideal Background & Skills
- 6–10 years of experience as a technical writer in complex technology environments
- Proven experience documenting platforms, APIs, or enterprise systems
- Ability to understand technical architectures and workflows quickly
- Strong written communication skills with attention to clarity and precision
- Experience working closely with engineering and product teams
- Familiarity with documentation tools and structured content approaches

- Not a marketing or content-creation role
- Not a copy-editing or proofreading-only role
- Not a passive documentation function
This role requires active engagement with technical teams and ownership of documentation quality.
