PURPOSE
This senior, technical expert role is responsible for designing, building, and managing advanced analytics solutions that power strategic decision-making. The position holder will act as a lead developer and internal consultant, translating complex, ambiguous business needs from senior leaders into sophisticated, scalable insights using the Microsoft Fabric, Power BI ecosystem as well as other Power Platforms.
This role requires end-to-end ownership of the analytics project lifecycle—from strategic need-finding and solution architecture to development, execution, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical data professional with strong project management discipline who will also champion the team's automation and AI capabilities.
The primary domain of application is the People function, with a stronger focus on
Reward Analytics, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll Automation and Reporting, and Pay Transparency. Projects may also span
Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning, or Talent & Skills depending on business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Project Leadership: Own and manage the full lifecycle of complex analytics projects. This includes leading discovery and need-finding sessions, defining project scope and intake, architecting the technical solution, managing execution timelines, and delivering high-impact solutions that drive continuous improvement.
Data Architecture & Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data models and dataflows within the Microsoft Fabric environment (e.g., OneLake, Data Factory, Data Warehousing). Ensure data architecture is optimized for performance, reliability, and consumption in Power BI. Knowledge of Git is a plus.
Advanced Analytics & BI Development: Act as the lead technical developer for critical Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models. Author and optimize complex DAX, implement advanced data visualizations, and ensure solutions provide clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Automation & Innovation: Proactively identify and develop automation solutions using Power Automate and Power Apps to drive efficiency, data quality, and process scalability—including automated reporting pipelines and workflow optimization.
AI & Copilot Development: Actively explore and champion the integration of AI tools. A significant plus includes experience in developing or extending Microsoft Copilot functionalities to enhance insights and user experience.
Business Translation & Consultation: Serve as a primary technical consultant to stakeholders. Proactively analyze business challenges, translate ambiguous requirements into precise technical specifications, and present data-driven insights to senior audiences in a clear, compelling manner.
Technical Mentorship & Governance: Establish and enforce development best practices, data governance standards, and documentation. Mentor junior team members on technical skills and analytic best practices.
Domain Application – People Analytics & Reward: Apply the above technical capabilities within the People function, with emphasis on reward analytics, compensation and benefits optimization, pay equity and transparency reporting, payroll automation, and workforce cost insights. Support broader initiatives across talent acquisition, workforce planning, and talent and skills as needed.
