Job Summary
We are seeking a
Senior Technical Engineer to support enterprise network and security operations within a
NOC & Command Centre environment. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in
SD-WAN, LAN, Wireless, Firewalls, Cisco ISE, Telephony, and Zscaler, with responsibility for
real-time monitoring, incident management, escalations, and service assurance across critical customer environments.
The ideal candidate will act as a
senior escalation point, ensuring high availability, rapid fault resolution, and adherence to SLAs in a 24x7 operational setup.
Key Responsibilities NOC Operations & Command Centre Support
- Provide Level-2/Level-3 operational support for enterprise network and security infrastructure.
- Monitor network health, performance, and security events using NMS/SIEM tools.
- Act as a senior escalation point for critical incidents (P1/P2).
- Ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues to minimize service impact.
SD-WAN & WAN Operations
- Monitor and troubleshoot SD-WAN environments (Cisco, Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, Versa, etc.).
- Troubleshoot routing issues involving BGP, OSPF, IPsec tunnels, QoS, and application-aware routing.
- Perform link failover validation, path optimization, and performance analysis.
- Support WAN technologies including MPLS, ILL, Internet VPNs, and Hybrid WAN.
LAN, Wi-Fi & NAC (Cisco ISE) - Support LAN and Wireless infrastructure, including access switches, controllers, and APs.
- Troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues related to coverage, roaming, authentication, and performance.
- Handle Cisco ISE operations:
- Authentication/authorization failures (802.1X, MAB)
- Guest access and posture checks
- Policy enforcement and compliance issues
- Coordinate with network and security teams for NAC-related changes.
Firewall & Network Security
- Provide operational support for firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower).
- Troubleshoot firewall policies, NAT, VPN (IPSec/SSL), and security rule issues.
- Assist with firewall change implementation as per approved MOPs.
- Support incident investigations related to network security events.
Zscaler & Cloud Security
- Support Zscaler ZIA and ZPA platforms.
- Troubleshoot user access, authentication, traffic forwarding, and policy enforcement issues.
- Work with SOC and security teams to resolve proxy-related incidents.
- Assist in validating Zscaler changes and integrations.
Telephony & Collaboration Support
- Provide operational support for enterprise telephony systems (CUCM, gateways, SIP).
- Troubleshoot call quality, call routing, and connectivity issues.
- Coordinate with service providers and voice teams for resolution of telephony incidents.
Incident, Change & Problem Management
- Handle incidents in line with ITIL processes.
- Participate in incident bridges and provide technical updates to stakeholders.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews.
- Validate changes during maintenance windows and perform pre/post checks.
- Mentor junior engineers (L1/L2) during troubleshooting and change execution.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
- Prepare incident summaries, outage reports, and shift handover documents.
- Ensure accurate ticket updates and audit compliance in ITSM tools.
Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills - Strong hands-on experience in:

- Cisco ISE (NAC)
- Telephony / Voice networks
- Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA)
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, QoS.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Netcool, Splunk, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira).
Process & Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work under pressure in a 24x7 operations environment.
- Strong coordination skills with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
- Mentoring and leadership capability within NOC operations.
Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / IT / Computer Science or equivalent.
- Preferred certifications:
- CCNA / CCNP (Enterprise or Security)
- Cisco SD-WAN
- PCNSE / Fortinet NSE
- Cisco ISE / Zscaler certifications
- ITIL Foundation
Experience
- 6–10 years of experience in NOC Operations, Command Centre, or Network Operations roles.
- Experience supporting large enterprise or service provider environments is highly desirable.
