Job Title
Senior Team Member – Projects (Credit Risk Modelling & ECL)
Role Objective
To oversee and drive credit risk modelling and Expected Credit Loss (ECL)–related projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with regulatory and strategic objectives. The role requires independent ownership of high-impact or complex initiatives, efficient stakeholder engagement, and proactive liaison with senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight & Delivery
- Oversee all projects within the Credit Risk Modelling & ECL team, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Independently manage and deliver major, high-impact, or complex projects end-to-end.
- Track project milestones, identify risks or bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Quality & Standards
- Ensure projects meet internal governance standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
- Establish and enforce quality benchmarks for modelling, reporting, and process improvements.
- Conduct regular reviews and ensure proper documentation of all project deliverables.
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key liaison between the project team, Unit Head, and senior management.
- Provide clear and timely updates on project progress, risks, and key decisions.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, Risk, Business, Compliance, Audit).
- Ownership of Strategic Initiatives
- Take full responsibility for strategic and high-visibility initiatives within the modelling and ECL domain.
- Contribute to design, development, and implementation of risk models and ECL enhancements.
- Drive adoption of new frameworks, methodologies, or tools to strengthen risk modelling capabilities.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to optimize project execution, governance, and delivery practices.
- Recommend process automation and digital solutions for efficiency gains.
- Support capability building within the project team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong project management and delivery skills in risk management or financial services.
- In-depth knowledge of credit risk modelling, ECL frameworks (Ind AS 109/ IFRS 9), and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with senior leadership.
- Ability to independently manage complex, cross-functional projects with accountability.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field (MBA/ CA/ CFA/ FRM/ PMP preferred).
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in credit risk, ECL, or project management within banking/financial services.
- Demonstrated success in handling high-impact or large-scale projects independently.
