Job Description:
In this role the suitable candidate would facilitate the following by championing the environment in the development/test stages suitable for developing software for the final production environments.
- Collaborate with developers at the design, develop, test, implement, evolve and support stages to guide application design for readiness into our secure and highly-available, multi-tenant platform. We take pride in the continuous delivery of high-quality, scalable and maintainable applications and infrastructure.
- Bridge and assist the union between development, quality, security and operations.
- Systems administration and pipeline from software development to testing and release.
- Be passionate about the security, quality and uptime of the systems that power our platforms infrastructure, as well as all aspects of configuration management and automation from the code repos though deployment.
- DevOps Blueprint/Cookbook Design, creation and execution.
- Responsible for maintaining / patching servers supporting the Lab environment. This includes Windows Servers, Linux Servers running in our global labs.
- Position responsible for performing application upgrades on our Infrastructure software.
- Helps develop standards, procedures and guides for managing servers and applications for security and high availability applications running in all the Lab environments.
- Develop / Monitor dashboards to detect problems related to application, infrastructure and potential security incidents on daily basis.
- Participate in Disaster recovery planning and execution .
- Audit working procedures and making changes to meet statutory regulations
- Work with a geographically distributed workforce and users to support the infrastructure
Qualification and Expectations:
3+ years experience in a VMware Hypervisor environment supporting over 1000+ VM's on large clusters. Having additional experience with HYPER-V will be a distinct advantage. Experience with Hyper-Converged systems is also an advantage.
Required:
- 3+ years experience administering various Windows & Linux Operating Systems.
- Customer Service Oriented with Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent analysis, debugging, root-cause identification, and troubleshooting skills.
- Rotational on-call support
- Experience in creating and maintaining documentation in support of the team and our customers.
- Critical attention to detail, thoroughness and documentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision, making decisions based upon priorities, schedules and an understanding of business initiatives.
- 3+ years experience deploying and supporting high traffic, scalable web applications/services.
- Experience architecting, reviewing, & supporting complex, highly-available infrastructure.
- Experience with orchestration, automation, and configuration management tools like git, Fabric and Ansible (or Puppet, Chef, or related technology).
- Experience with administering relational databases in a production environment (esp. PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Experience with (or strong interest in) server containerization.
- Skill and interest in applying software development practices to systems administration.
- Experience in using secured remote access tools (e.g. RDP, SSH/PuTTY) in managing Windows or Linux servers remotely.
- Expertise in deploying Application Server such as JBoss, Wildfly, or IIS in multi-tier architecture. Experience with deployment tools such as Chef/Ansible etc is mandatory.
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP LAN/WAN networking technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
- A background in automating the management of a data center environment.
- Experience in Java application troubleshooting tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace etc).
- Experience with hardware or software based firewalls, load balancers and proxy servers.
- Experience with intrusion detection systems and network and server security hardening.
