About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior System Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the backbone of our systems engineering department, responsible for planning, implementing, overseeing, and maintaining our server and network infrastructure. You will design, install, and configure internal and client-facing servers, network devices, and related systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for Linux and Ubuntu operations, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise, ownership, and leadership in managing complex network environments. Your contributions will directly impact our operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have between 3 to 6 years of industry experience in system administration and network management. Proficiency in managing customer engineering, IT infrastructure, and deployment processes is essential. Hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu) command-line tools, troubleshooting, and system hardening is required. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and AWS is highly desirable. Additionally, experience with scripting languages like Bash and Python, network troubleshooting, and remote monitoring tools will be advantageous. A strong security mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under SLA-driven environments are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and maintain server and network infrastructure to support organizational and client needs.
• Design, install, and configure internal and customer-facing servers, including web servers, databases, and network devices.
• Develop and enforce security policies, create OS hardening configurations, and ensure compliance across all systems, particularly on Ubuntu platforms.
• Provision and prepare hardware and software for deployment in development, testing, and production environments.
• Assist in provisioning cloud components across Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and AWS, ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
• Provide Level 2 support, troubleshooting, and resolving issues escalated from first-level support teams or clients.
• Coordinate deployment activities, onboarding processes, and ongoing support for customer projects.
• Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and implement proactive measures to prevent outages or security breaches.
• Automate routine tasks using shell/bash scripting and, optionally, Python to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Manage remote monitoring systems such as Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, or Site24x7 to ensure system health and uptime.
• Participate in incident management, escalations, and problem resolution to meet SLA commitments.
