Role Description The Senior Study Abroad Counsellor | CANADA role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The counsellor will guide students through the entire process of studying in Canada, including profiling, course and university selection, application preparation, documentation, and visa process support. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, explaining admission and immigration requirements, tracking application status, and maintaining accurate student records. The role involves coordinating with universities and partners, organizing information sessions, and providing timely updates to students and families. The counsellor will also contribute to improving counseling processes, support outreach activities, and collaborate with the team to achieve enrollment targets for Canadian institutions.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling and advisory skills, with experience supporting students through international education decisions and processes.
- Knowledge of Canadian higher education systems, admission procedures, and student visa requirements.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written), with the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to handle multiple student cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfort using digital tools and platforms for applications, documentation, and student tracking.
- Prior experience in overseas education consulting, student services, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline such as Education, Management, Humanities, or International Relations.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a student-centered, ethical approach.
