Role Description The Senior Student Counsellor – Overseas Education (Thrissur) is a full-time, on-site role responsible for guiding prospective students through their entire study abroad journey. Day-to-day tasks include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing students’ academic profiles and career goals, and recommending suitable countries, universities, and programs. The counsellor will support students with application documentation, admission processes, visa requirements, and scholarship opportunities, while maintaining accurate records in internal systems. The role involves regular communication with students and families, delivering information sessions, coordinating with partner institutions, and ensuring a high standard of customer service and ethical guidance. The counsellor is expected to collaborate closely with the local Thrissur office team to achieve recruitment targets and enhance the overall student experience.
Qualifications
- Strong student counseling and career counseling skills to guide learners toward suitable study abroad paths.
- Excellent communication abilities, including clear interpersonal, presentation, and listening skills.
- Customer service skills to provide responsive, empathetic, and solution-focused support to students and families.
- Knowledge of education systems and overseas admission processes, especially in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, business, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in study abroad consultancy, academic advising, or related student-facing roles is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfort with using digital tools, CRM or student management systems, and standard office software.
- High ethical standards, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine passion for supporting students’ personal and academic growth.
