About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Structural Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of the structural engineering scope on heavy industrial projects. This is a hands-on design role focused on analysis, design, detailing, and delivery of structural packages for industrial facilities. The successful candidate will be capable of independently executing structural engineering work from concept through issue-for-construction while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze structural models using STAAD.Pro and related engineering tools
- Design steel and concrete structures for heavy industrial facilities
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and material take-offs
- Coordinate with process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines
- Support procurement activities, vendor reviews, and constructability reviews
- Provide technical support during construction, including RFIs and field issue resolution
- Perform peer reviews and quality checks of structural engineering deliverables
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering; M.E./M.Tech preferred
- 10-15 years of structural engineering experience with significant heavy industrial project experience
- Advanced proficiency in STAAD.Pro and working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of steel and concrete design principles and engineering codes
- Ability to independently execute structural engineering packages from concept through construction
Preferred Experience
- Experience with international industrial projects in metals, mining, power, chemical, or manufacturing sectors
- Familiarity with SAP2000, Robot Structural Analysis, ETABS, or similar software
- Experience with connection design and foundation design software
- Professional registration, Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent credential
- Experience working within EPC, owner-engineer, or global engineering organizations
Work Arrangement
- Remote-first. The role is structured for remote work, with a minimum of one week per month on site at our Hyderabad office for team collaboration, design reviews, and planning.
- Additional office attendance may be requested for project kick-offs, major design reviews, client visits, or audits, with reasonable notice.
- Candidates must have a reliable home working setup and be within practical travelling distance of Hyderabad for the monthly requirement.
- Core hours will overlap with project team and client time zones; specifics to be confirmed at offer stage.
- Occasional travel to project sites or client offices may be required.
What We Offer
- Ownership of complete structural packages on large-scale industrial projects, with genuine technical autonomy.
- A flexible, trust-based working model built around output rather than hours at a desk.
- Exposure to international codes, clients, and project types.
- Support for professional development, code training, software certification, and professional registration.
- Competitive compensation is benchmarked to specialist industrial structural engineering, not general civil design.
- Opportunity to work on heavy industrial project extending globally, primarily in the US and Europe.
Application
Applicants should submit a CV together with a brief project list stating, for each significant project: structure type, their personal scope, the design codes applied, and the analysis software used. Shortlisted candidates should expect a technical interview covering STAAD modelling decisions, load path reasoning, connection design, and code interpretation.
