Role Summary
We are looking for a Senior / Lead SQL Server DBA who owns end-to-end enterprise database platforms, not just database operations.
The role requires architecture thinking, production ownership, transformation experience, and cloud exposure across large, business-critical systems.
This role is NOT limited to ticket-based DBA work.
Key Responsibilities
• Own end-to-end SQL Server platforms for large enterprise applications (ERP / BFSI / Core Platforms)
• Lead legacy system modernization and platform transformation programs
• Design and manage:
◦ High Availability & Disaster Recovery (AlwaysOn, Failover Clusters)
◦ Performance architecture for large workloads
• Actively participate in:
◦ Go-Live, Hypercare, and Production Stabilization
◦ Database upgrades & version migrations
• Work closely with:
◦ Application teams
◦ Cloud/Infra teams
◦ DevOps teams
• Drive:
◦ Performance tuning
◦ Capacity planning
◦ Database security & compliance
• Lead database support for multi-system integrated platforms
• Mentor junior DBAs / Developers

Core SQL Skills (Mandatory)
• SQL Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022)
• Advanced T-SQL (procedures, performance tuning)
• Execution Plan analysis, indexing strategy
• TempDB, memory & IO tuning
Enterprise DBA Skills
• AlwaysOn Availability Groups
• Failover Clustering
• Backup & Recovery strategy (RPO/RTO driven)
• Production incident RCA
• Capacity planning & workload forecasting
• Security (TDE, auditing, access models)
Transformation & Architecture Exposure (Key Differentiator)
• Legacy → Modern platform migrations
• Database consolidation
• SQL version upgrades at scale
• ERP / BFSI / Core application DB support
• Experience supporting multi-application ecosystems
Cloud & DevOps (Important)
• SQL on Azure / AWS (IaaS or PaaS)
• Azure DevOps / CI-CD for DB changes
• Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Datadog, OEM-like tools)
• Automation via PowerShell / T-SQL / scripting
Mindset Indicators (Non-negotiable)
• Ownership mindset (platform thinking)
• Comfortable in production-critical environments
• Has handled go-live & hypercare
