Job details:
The Senior Solutions Architect is responsible for defining and facilitating technical solutions across all Athos Commerce products, including the Athos Platform, Searchspring, Klevu, Intelligent Reach, and future product developments or acquisitions. This role involves assessing customer business needs, identifying opportunities to fulfill those needs with best-in-class solutions, and bridging the gap between business requirements and technical capabilities. The Senior Solutions Architect provides technical support to both sales and customer success teams and plays a key role in implementation by translating business needs into technical requirements for the development team. Strong client communication, presentation skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve project requirements; accurately translate them into technical documentation for internal teams, ensuring alignment between client needs and product capabilities.
- Collaborate with pre-sales and customer success teams to validate client technical requirements, confirm suitability with Athos' product suite, and propose tailored solutions where needed.
- Define success criteria for implementation projects based on customer requirements and business outcomes.
- Support the implementation process by managing data connections and validation and by setting up the Athos Management Console to enable development work.
- Troubleshoot issues as needed; work with support and development teams to resolve technical challenges during support interactions, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and implementation revisions.
- Analyze client business needs to design comprehensive solutions leveraging the full Athos Commerce product suite; identify and highlight functional gaps in current customer systems.
- Identify and communicate potential risks or red flags; assess project complexity based on client requirements and capabilities to ensure a seamless implementation process.
- Ensure requirements are gathered, validated, and communicated within project timelines to support on-time development and delivery.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Athos Commerce products and solutions; stay informed on product updates and translate those into value for customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Provide internal training and lead partner technical enablement initiatives to support successful solution adoption.
Requirements
- 7+ years in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or Technical Consulting.
- E-commerce Ecosystems: Experience with major platforms (Shopify Plus, Magento/Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce).
- Search and Discovery: Knowledge of AI-driven search, recommendation engines, and personalization logic.
- Data Integration: Proficiency in managing APIs (REST/GraphQL), Webhooks, and complex data mapping. You'll need to understand how product catalogs move from a backend ERP to a frontend search tool.
- Frontend Literacy: While you aren't coding all day, you must understand JavaScript frameworks and commerce architectures to explain how these tools integrate into a client's site.
- Requirement Translation: Proven ability to take a vague business goal (e. g., "We want to increase our conversion rate via better mobile search") and turn it into a technical spec for developers.
- Scope Management: Experience identifying "red flags" or "scope creep. " You need to be the person who says, "Our platform can do that, but it will require custom development that adds 4 weeks to the timeline. "
- Consultative Selling: Experience supporting Sales teams by conducting technical demos and "proving" the solution works during the pre-contract phase.
- SME Mentality: You should have a track record of acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), staying ahead of industry trends like AI in commerce or multi-channel distribution.
- Enablement: Experience training internal teams or partners on how to use a technical product.
