Consuma is Looking for:
We are looking for a
Senior Software Engineer (Systems/Platform) to architect and scale the core infrastructure that powers Consuma’s AI and data products. You will design high-throughput systems, distributed pipelines, and cloud-native platforms that process large volumes of data reliably and efficiently. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving hard backend problems, building resilient systems from first principles, and operating at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build highly scalable, distributed backend systems and data pipelines
- Own core platform architecture across compute, storage, streaming, and orchestration layers
- Develop cloud-native services using Kubernetes and modern microservices patterns
- Build and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines (Kafka, Spark, Big Data stacks)
- Improve system reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency
- Lead technical design decisions and mentor engineers on systems best practices
- Own services end-to-end — design, implementation, deployment, and production stability
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Backend / Systems / Platform Engineer
- Strong experience designing and scaling distributed systems in production
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures
- Strong knowledge of streaming and messaging systems (Kafka or similar)
- Experience building Big Data pipelines using Spark or similar frameworks
- Deep experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Strong fundamentals in system design, data structures, and performance optimization
Good to Have
- Experience with Databricks or Snowflake
- Experience working on large-scale consumer or high-traffic platforms
- Exposure to ML/AI data infrastructure
- Experience in fast-paced startup environments
- Open source contributions or deep systems side projects
