ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented and experienced Integration Engineer to join the team to work on our partner integrations - ShipModule. The core focus of this role is to manage and advance our Boomi integration platform. This includes hosting and maintaining ATOM environments, optimizing current integration flows for peak performance and reliability, and developing new integrations across our diverse technology stack. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and mandates availability to provide live support coverage until 1:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST).
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own, host, and administer Boomi ATOM environments (cloud and local ATOMs).
- Audit, refactor, and optimise existing Boomi integration flows to improve throughput, error handling, and maintainability.
- Design and develop new integrations connecting ERP, WMS, e-commerce, and third-party systems via APIs and EDI.
- Build, maintain, and document RESTful and SOAP API integrations
- Develop and maintain custom API(s) built on NodeJS, TypeScript
- Write and optimize MySQL queries and data-transformation logic supporting integration pipelines.
- Provide live support and incident response coverage; must be available and responsive through 1:00 PM PST each business day.
- Participate in code reviews, integration testing, and deployment activities within the ShipModule release cycle.
- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Integration Platform
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Boomi.
- Proven experience hosting and managing Boomi ATOMs (local, cloud, and Molecule).
- Strong understanding of Boomi process design patterns: maps, connectors, decision shapes, data process, exception handling, and sub-processes.
- Track record of improving existing Boomi flows — reducing latency, increasing throughput, and improving error visibility.
Development
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for scripting, data transformation, and middleware logic.
- Solid experience with Node.js for building API services, webhooks, and integration middleware.
- Proficient in MySQL, queries, etc
- Strong skills in REST, SOAP, XML, EDI
Work Style & Availability
- Self-directed individual contributor — able to take full ownership of tasks end-to-end without close supervision.
- Available and responsive for support through 1:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST / PDT) on all business days.
- Strong communication skills for async collaboration across time zones.
STRONG PLUS
- Experience with Next.js or React for building internal dashboards or operational UIs.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and API Gateway for serverless integration layers.
- Familiarity with EDI standards (850, 810, 856, 944) and EDI-over-API workflows.
- Exposure to additional iPaaS platforms (e.g., Celigo, MuleSoft, Workato).
- Experience with NetSuite SuiteScript or other ERP scripting environments.
- Familiarity with containerised or cloud-hosted ATOM deployments on AWS.
