Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop the core data backbone for Logward's No-Code Data Platform.
- Build reusable capabilities for ingestion, parsing, schema management, mapping, transformation, validation, orchestration, monitoring, and operational workflows.
- Develop scalable backend services, APIs, workers, and execution engines using Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar technologies.
- Build configuration-driven and metadata-driven frameworks that allow users to define pipelines, mappings, validations, and business rules without writing code.
- Use distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or similar technologies.
- Support ingestion of structured, semi-structured, and flat-file data, including JSON, XML, CSV, fixed-width files, EDI, APIs, and database sources.
- Implement transformations such as lookups, joins, enrichments, calculations, conditional logic, aggregations, normalization, and format conversions.
- Build observability capabilities including execution logs, audit trails, lineage, error tracking, retry handling, SLA monitoring, and data quality checks.
- Contribute to AI-assisted capabilities such as schema inference, mapping suggestions, transformation recommendations, anomaly detection, error explanation, and pipeline troubleshooting.
- Design safe AI-agent workflows with tool orchestration, structured outputs, validation layers, guardrails, audit logs, and human review.
- Convert product requirements into architecture, technical designs, and production-ready code, while contributing to design reviews, testing, debugging, and production readiness.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to build robust, user-friendly, extensible, and scalable platform features.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Backend Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, or in a comparable product-focused engineering role.
- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar programming languages, with a strong grasp of object-oriented design, clean coding practices, testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience developing backend systems, APIs, background workers, orchestration layers, or execution engines for scalable applications.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering fundamentals, including ingestion, transformation, validation, orchestration, data quality, metadata management, and monitoring.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB or Redis.
- Familiarity with JSON, XML, CSV, fixed-width files, EDI, RESTful APIs, asynchronous processing, message queues, retries, idempotency, and error handling.
- Understanding of data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, and open table formats such as Apache Iceberg, Hudi, or Delta Lake.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, GitHub, Docker, cloud-native development, and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Exposure to AI and LLM product capabilities, including agents, tool calling, structured outputs, RAG, evaluation frameworks, prompt management, and enterprise guardrails.
- A product-oriented mindset and the ability to translate requirements into scalable, reusable, and configurable platform features.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, mentor peers, and uphold strong engineering practices.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience designing rule engines, expression evaluators, workflow engines, schema registries, or metadata-driven systems.
- Experience with data contracts, dataset versioning, backward compatibility, schema evolution, and data lineage.
- Understanding of security, tenant isolation, permission-aware execution, auditability, and data privacy in enterprise SaaS products.
- Experience with Kubernetes, object storage, distributed workers, event-driven architectures, or AI-driven data products.
