Senior Software Engineer - Canton
Contract Role - Remote

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong backend skills in C#/.NET, SQL, and RESTful
APIs to help build a Daml-on-Canton distributed-ledger platform for KYC and investor onboarding in the
alternative investment space. You'll design and extend the ledger's smart-contract model, run its network
infrastructure, and build the services that connect it to the wider platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and extend Daml smart-contract models, including data structures, business rules, and
multi-party access control
• Deploy and operate Canton network infrastructure (participant nodes and validators), covering
monitoring, capacity planning, and environment promotion
• Own release and versioning of smart contracts, ensuring safe upgrades and backward compatibility
through automated unit, integration, and contract-level tests
• Design and build APIs and backend services, including secure identity/token-based integration with the
ledger
• Develop and maintain .NET applications and services, using SQL for database design, management,
and optimisation
• Architect cloud-based, containerised solutions using Docker and Kubernetes
• Uphold code quality through best practices, code reviews, and testing
• Communicate with technical and business stakeholders on requirements, progress, and system
capabilities
• Use AI tools to accelerate design, coding, and documentation
Required Skills
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related field
• Hands-on experience building smart contracts or distributed-ledger applications in Daml
• Experience deploying and operating Canton network infrastructure in the cloud
• Proven practice in safe versioning and release of schema/contract changes, with automated testing
• Strong command of C#/.NET, SQL Server or PostgreSQL (including stored procedures/functions), and
RESTful API design
• Solid grasp of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and architecture
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and Kubernetes / AWS EKS
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to work independently in an Agile environment
