About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps (5+ years of experience) with deep expertise in AWS cloud platforms, Kubernetes (EKS), CI/CD using Jenkins, Identity & Access Management, and Gateway services, Serviceless function. The role focuses on building secure, scalable, and highly available platform services enabling engineering teams to deliver reliably at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement multi-region, highly available AWS infrastructure using EKS, AWS Fargate, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, and advanced networking patterns.
- Build and maintain resilient Kubernetes platforms with a focus on scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Implement micro-segmented and zero-trust architectures, ensuring all service-to-service communication is authenticated and authorized.
- Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, including:
- Reusable module design
- Remote state management
- Policy-as-code (OPA, Sentinel, SCPs)
- Secure cross-account deployments
- Enable self-service infrastructure provisioning via internal developer platforms and standardized templates.
- Architect and manage CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using ArgoCD, Helm, and modern CI tools.
- Support multi-environment deployments, progressive delivery (canary/blue-green), and automated rollback strategies.
- Embed security gates into pipelines, ensuring vulnerabilities are detected early.
- Implement and operate AWS security services, including AWS Config, Security Hub, GuardDuty, KMS, and Secrets Manager.
- Integrate SAST and DAST into the SDLC, with hands-on experience in application security testing using tools such as Burp Suite.
- Automate and maintain controls for SOC 2, HIPAA, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Conduct and facilitate cross-functional threat modeling sessions during design and architecture phases.
- Optimize infrastructure and application performance using advanced monitoring, logging, and APM tools.
- Drive proactive incident detection, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of platform reliability.
- Lead FinOps initiatives, including:
- Reserved Instances and Spot Instances strategy
- Rightsizing and usage optimization
- Cost allocation, tagging standards, and chargeback/showback models
Qualifications
- Strong 5+ years experience in AWS cloud platforms and security best practices.
- Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes (EKS) and containerized workloads.
- Advanced knowledge of Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD, and GitOps workflows.
- Docker & Linux
- Bash / Shell scripting
- Practical experience with application security, including SAST, DAST, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience implementing zero-trust, least-privilege, and defense-in-depth security models.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS.
