Description
Samarth eGov is an initiative under Project Samarth, sponsored by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and implemented by Delhi of University. The project aims to enable the Universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through a digital framework for planning, management, delivery, and monitoring of services for students, staff, and other stakeholders through fully managed, cloud based, comprehensive ERP that is custom built for HEIs of the country. Experience Required: 4–8 Years
Objective
You will be responsible for owning backend architecture, module delivery, system scalability, and performance optimization of enterprise ERP products used by Higher Education Institutions and Government bodies. You will work closely with architects, product teams, DevOps, DB teams, and implementation stakeholders to ensure highly reliable and scalable deployments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead hands-on development of large-scale backend ERP modules
• Build reusable, maintainable, and secure PHP/Yii2 services
• Design optimized MySQL/PostgreSQL schemas for high transaction systems
• Drive API architecture, third-party integrations, and workflow automation
• Review code quality, enforce standards, and mentor junior developers
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in performance, caching, and query execution
• Ensure deployment readiness, release stability, and production issue resolution
• Work on multi-tenant SaaS architecture and institutional customization layers
• Collaborate in AI-assisted development, automation workflows, and DevOps processes
Core Technical Stack
PHP 8+, Yii2 Framework, MySQL/PostgreSQL Database Management, Redis Caching, REST API Development, Linux Server Environment, Git/GitLab Version Control, CI/CD Pipelines, Nginx/Apache Configuration, Cloud Deployment, Advanced Query Optimization, and ERP Workflow Systems
Preferred Exposure:
AWS • ClickHouse • Temporal • Queue Systems • Microservice/Event Driven Integrations • AI Coding Tools
Ideal Candidate Profile

• have strong command over PHP backend architecture
• can independently own large code modules
• understand performance engineering deeply
• write production-grade optimized SQL
• can balance delivery speed with engineering quality
• have worked on SaaS / ERP / enterprise products
• are comfortable in high accountability technical environments
• can mentor teams while still remaining hands-on coders
Experience and Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent.
- 4–8 years of experience in backend development, preferably in SaaS, ERP, or large-scale web applications.
