Senior Software Engineer – E‑Commerce (Hyderabad)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design and deliver complex features for our SaaS product platforms. As a senior member of a collaborative pod, you will own features end‑to‑end—leveraging AI tools across the development lifecycle to ensure high‑quality outcomes. This role combines technical leadership, hands‑on backend development, and mentoring, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and innovation.
📍 Work Location: Hyderabad
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and implementation of complex backend features with a DevOps mindset.
- Collaborate with Technical PMs to translate product requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Use AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Windsurf, etc.) to accelerate development and validation.
- Review AI‑generated and peer code for correctness, security, and performance.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage and drive improvements in AI‑assisted development practices.
- Design and implement REST APIs following established patterns.
- Build scalable SaaS applications using Java, JSP, Node.js, and XML technologies.
- Support both UI and backend services within your pod’s domain.
- Mentor engineers on effective AI usage, specification writing, and code review practices.
- Share knowledge across pods and contribute to workflow optimization.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable SaaS software.
- Strong backend development skills with Java, JSP, Node.js, XML.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS/Sass, Angular, React, TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of SQL databases (SQL Server, MySQL).
- Experience with REST API design and source control (Git).
- Hands‑on experience with AI coding assistants.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and code review skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers through code review or technical guidance.
Preferred
- Exposure to spec‑driven, agentic AI workflows.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Familiarity with Elastic, Apache Solr, Lucene.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
- Understanding of testable application design principles.
- Track record of driving adoption of new tools and practices across teams.
