Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Level 4
Location: 100% Remote (India)
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 6 Months
As a Software Engineer 4 on our Supply Chain Transportation team, you will be a key technical leader — designing systems, influencing architecture across teams, and mentoring engineers to deliver at scale.
What You'll Do
- Lead design and architecture on projects across multiple teams, breaking work into executable tracks for junior engineers
- Build frameworks and platforms that solve multiple business problems at once
- Drive transportation execution solutions across Merchandising, Inventory, Data Analytics, and other Supply Chain services
- Streamline processes, automate workflows, and standardize transportation capabilities
- Diagnose and resolve performance and security issues; lead root cause analysis across functions
- Surface design or delivery conflicts early and recommend solutions
- Contribute to engineering standards and community projects
- Mentor and inspire junior engineers through design and execution
Required
- 8+ years of professional experience delivering quality software in production environments
- Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework
- Hands-on experience with containerization — Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
- Deep experience with system design, scaling, and performance testing
- Experience with cloud platforms — AWS and/or GCP
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience with messaging technologies and patterns — Kafka and/or SQS
- Strong computer science fundamentals
- Test automation across all levels — unit, integration, regression, and load testing
Good to Have
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Terraform
- Experience with observability and ops tools — New Relic, Splunk, or similar
- Exposure to supply chain, logistics, or inventory management systems
