Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Payment Platform product group in the IT team as a Software Development Engineer. This role will require the Software Development Engineer to support the design/build solutions for new features and direct the production support our portfolio of our applications, and systems. This role requires a passion for building and delivering applications and systems that our customers and stakeholders love. This Software Development Engineer role will be responsible for developing and implementing Java/J2EE applications. In addition, this Software Development Engineer will be involved in product configuration, performance tuning and testing as well as production monitoring. There is also an expectation that the role will demonstrate expertise around modern software design and development.
Role Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, RESTful APIs.
- Build and maintain payment-related components and integrations in AWS.
- Implement secure, PCI-compliant solutions and ensure adherence to Delta’s standards and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure, PCI-compliant solutions.
- Support deployments and ensure adherence to Delta’s methodology, standards, and CI/CD practices.
- Troubleshoot and optimize application performance across front-end and back-end layers.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Ensure technical solutions align with business goals and deliver high customer satisfaction.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 4–6 years in full-stack development.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- AWS expertise (EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, etc.).
- Experience with Oracle/SQL and source control tools (Git).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and PCI standards.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong communication skills and professionalism.
- Additionally, candidate must be a self-learner with the ability to pick up new technologies and provide tangible results.
- Finally Candidate has to be Reliable, produce quality work, take pride and ownership in their work with high level of professionalism, passion and a sense of urgency to make things happen

- Understanding of payment gateway processes.
- Experience with DevOps practices.
- An eye for detail and passion for delivering quality work.
