Senior Simulation Engineer – Power Systems & Real-Time Simulation

- Employment Type: Full-Time

- Experience: B.Tech + Minimum 3 Years (M.Tech Freshers with strong simulation background may apply)
We are seeking a highly capable Senior Simulation Engineer to work on advanced power system modeling, real-time digital simulation environments, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation, and grid stability analysis for critical infrastructure and industrial applications. This role requires strong expertise in power system studies, protection engineering, real-time simulation platforms, industrial communication systems, and operational validation within transmission and distribution networks.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and optimize large-scale power system models for transmission, distribution, and industrial power networks.
- Perform advanced power system studies including load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, contingency analysis, arc-flash analysis, and fault level calculations.
- Conduct detailed grid stability assessments including transient stability, voltage stability, frequency response, harmonics, and power quality analysis.
- Work extensively with real-time digital simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms for validation of protection schemes, control systems, and industrial automation workflows.
- Design and validate real-time simulation environments for testing of relays, controllers, SCADA systems, and grid automation architectures.
- Analyze and coordinate protection systems including relay coordination, breaker sequencing, CT/PT selection, fault isolation strategies, and system recovery validation.
- Interpret operational data from SCADA/EMS systems to identify system anomalies, instability conditions, operational risks, and performance deviations.
- Perform simulation-driven validation of industrial communication systems and control architectures used in utility and industrial environments.
- Conduct event analysis, disturbance simulations, and fault-replay studies to evaluate system resilience and operational reliability.
- Work on industrial and utility communication protocols, network behavior analysis, and real-time operational data exchange mechanisms.
- Collaborate on advanced R&D activities involving smart grids, digital substations, power system automation, real-time simulation frameworks, and resilient critical infrastructure systems.
- Support development of simulation testbeds for validation of protection logic, automation systems, and grid modernization initiatives.
