Title: Senior ServiceNow Developer / Technical Lead
Location: Delhi (Remote initially, then Onsite)
Ideal Working Hours: 12PM to 7PM IST
About the Role
This is a senior technical role with a clear growth path to Technical Lead. You will be the most experienced developer on the team, taking ownership of architecture and delivery while mentoring junior developers. Over time, as the team grows, you will step fully into the Technical Lead position.
We are open to strong Senior Developers who have not yet held a formal Tech Lead title but have the depth, drive, and some leadership exposure to grow into one. If you are the kind of person who takes ownership, makes decisions, and raises the bar around you, we want to hear from you.
You will operate with significant autonomy, reporting directly to the founder, with day-to-day technical decisions firmly in your hands.
What You Will Do
- Own the technical architecture of our ServiceNow solutions and client delivery engagements
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of junior developers: setting standards, reviewing code, and unblocking the team
- Drive product and implementation roadmap execution, including AI features and integrations
- Ensure our ServiceNow solutions remain compliant with platform and Store requirements across releases
- Establish and maintain development standards, tooling, and documentation
- Collaborate with the Business Analyst on solution design and technical scoping
- Contribute to pre-sales conversations and technical proposal writing where needed
- Make day-to-day technical decisions confidently, escalating only genuine blockers
Technical Skills and Experience
As the most senior technical person in the team, you will be expected to provide coverage across the ServiceNow platform. We do not expect mastery of every area below, but you should be strong in the essential areas and capable of developing competency in others.
Platform Fundamentals
- 5 or more years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience
- Deep proficiency in server-side and client-side scripting: Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions
- Strong JavaScript skills, including modern ES6+ patterns applied within ServiceNow
- Experience with ServiceNow REST and SOAP integrations, MID Server, and Integration Hub
- Solid understanding of ServiceNow data model, ACLs, and platform security
- Familiarity with ServiceNow release management across major platform versions, including Xanadu and Yokohama
Application Development (Essential)
- Strong experience with ServiceNow App Engine and custom scoped application development
- Broad platform development capability across configurations, workflows, integrations, and UI development
- Knowledge of ServiceNow UI framework: Service Portal, Workspace, and Flow Designer
- Experience with Automated Test Framework (ATF) for building and maintaining test coverage
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Store publishing and compliance requirements is an advantage
ITSM (Essential)
- Strong working knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change, and Request modules
- Experience configuring and customising ITSM workflows for enterprise customers
ServiceNow Modules (Nice to Have)
- ITOM: Discovery, CMDB, and Event Management
- GRC or SecOps: governance, risk, compliance, or security operations workflows
- ITAM: asset lifecycle management within the ServiceNow platform
- HRSD: any exposure is a bonus
AI and Emerging Capabilities (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on experience with Now Assist or ServiceNow AI capabilities
- Understanding of AI governance and how platforms like ServiceNow can serve as an authority layer for agentic AI workflows
- Awareness of GenAI integration patterns within enterprise platforms
Certifications
- Certified System Administrator (CSA): required
- Certified Application Developer (CAD): required
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more modules: desirable
Leadership and Ways of Working
- Some leadership experience, whether formal or informal: mentoring juniors, leading a project workstream, being the most senior technical person on a team, or owning code reviews
- Self-directed and decisive: comfortable owning technical strategy without daily oversight
- Strong communication skills: able to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Ambitious and growth-oriented: you want to lead, not just deliver
- Experience working in small or remote-first teams is a strong advantage
Working Hours and Location
Core hours are 12PM to 7PM IST to align with our North American and European client base. The role is initially remote, transitioning to onsite at our Delhi office. This is the most senior technical role in the company, and your impact will be immediate and visible from day one
